Surprise Proposal Indian Rocks Beach

Carl reached out to me while he and his girlfriend, Louise, were vacationing at Indian Rocks Beach. They’re from the midwest, but Louise’s happy place is the beach, so Carl knew this was the spot to pop the question. He wanted to make it extra special by having a proposal photographer there to capture it all, and I was so excited to help capture this sweet moment!

Carl planned to propose on New Year’s Eve Eve, with a beautiful sunset over the ocean. About 30 minutes before he was ready to get down on one knee, a crazy thick fog rolled in and totally changed the vibe. Our golden sunset was gone. But the fog ended up being such a cool background. Everything had such a dreamy, romantic feel. It was honestly a perfect reminder that even when things don’t go as planned, it’s still an absolutely beautiful memory (and the photos still turned out amazing).

Louise was totally surprised and couldn’t stop smiling. After Carl proposed, we took some photos of the couple and their friends, and you could just feel how happy they were. As we wrapped up, Louise gave me the biggest hug, and we all laughed about what a wild evening it had already been.
