Ybor Engagement Photo Session

There’s something about Ybor City that just works for engagement sessions, especially at sunset. The history, the textures, the energy without the chaos. This Ybor Engagement Session is a great example of why Downtown Ybor is one of my favorite spots near Tampa.

Emily and Jeremy met me in Historic Ybor right as the sun was starting to dip. Emily lives locally, and Jeremy is getting ready to retire from the military, which made this session feel extra meaningful. The weather was absolutely perfect... warm, comfortable, and that golden light Ybor does so well.

For a Saturday night, Ybor City was surprisingly calm. No big crowds. No distractions. Just quiet streets, good light, and space to wander. We started near Centennial Park and slowly walked toward Ybor Station, which gave us such a great variety of backdrops. Brick walls, historic buildings, open walkways, and classic Ybor details that really highlight the charm of the Cuban corner of Tampa.

One of the things I love most about a Ybor Engagement Session is how much variety you can get without feeling rushed. Downtown Ybor offers that city feel without the busyness of downtown Tampa, which makes it ideal for couples who want an urban look that still feels relaxed and natural.

As a Tampa family photographer (and engagement photographer), I love helping couples feel comfortable and present during their session. Emily and Jeremy were so easygoing, which made this walk through Historic Ybor feel more like a date night than a photo shoot, always the goal.
